South Tyrolean Family Business with Global Presence.
Founded in 1987 by brothers Heinrich and Christoph Widmann, along with their brother-in-law Peter Stadler, Sportstex has evolved from a small importer of cotton tote bags into an international player in the textile industry. Since 2015 also the next generation contributes to the company's success.
Production and development
From Promotional Items to Specialty Apparel
In its early years, Sportstex focused on importing cotton tote bags from China, which were then printed in Bolzano. With the opening of the first sewing factory in Timişoara, Romania, in 1993, the company began manufacturing textile promotional items and later, underwear for international corporations. Our expertise in cycling apparel grew steadily, and today, we are one of the leading producers of customized sportswear for various sports.
Product range
Much More Than Just Cycling Apparel
Apart from cycling apparel, Sportstex also manufactures custom clothing for running, winter sports, triathlon, and team sports like football, basketball, and handball. In 2018, we expanded our product range to include athleisure and fitness items for luxury brands, significantly enhancing our offerings.

From the South Tyrolean headquarters into the world
Sportstex boasts a team of over 1,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing sites in Romania, along with a sales branch in the USA, enabling the distribution of its high-quality products to over fifty countries around the world.
