The Meeting Città di Bolzano, held on Saturday, May 31st at the CONI Stadium in Bolzano, marked an exciting new chapter in Italian athletics. With over 500 athletes competing from across the country, the event was the first leg of the newly established “Texmarket Trophy – Grand Prix of the Provinces of Trento and Bolzano”.
Organized in close cooperation by the Läufer Club Bozen and Athletic Club 96 Alperia, and supported by the Atletica Alto Garda e Ledro, the meeting delivered both technical excellence and organizational success. This collaborative effort not only elevated the level of competition but also showcased the region’s potential to host major national and international athletics events.
Among the many highlights:
🥇 Oliver Mulas (Athletic Club 96 Alperia) clocked 13.81 in the 110m hurdles, winning a thrilling race against Hassane Fofana (Fiamme Oro Padova), an Olympian and World Championship competitor.
⚡ Lorenzo Ianes stormed to victory in the 100m in 10.54, despite a strong -4 m/s headwind, outperforming sprinters from the Carabinieri and Fiamme Oro teams.
🏆 Mohammadu Rafeek (Unicusano Livorno) cleared 2.17m to win the high jump in one of the event’s most technically impressive performances.

🏁 The 800m race delivered excitement to the finish line, with Addioui Zouhair (Molfetta) winning in 1:50.38, edging out local favorites Hakim Elliasmine and Federico Mogetti.
👟 In the women’s sprints, Roberta Giovannelli earned a spot in the 100m final with an impressive performance in the heats.
The meeting was more than just a competition—it was a celebration of regional cooperation. Hosted by Texmarket, the pre-event press conference brought together key stakeholders including Bruno Telchini (Athletic Club 96), Andreas Widmann (Läufer Club), Paolo Valt (FIDAL Alto Adige), Augusto Ricci (Atletica Alto Garda), and Luca Landoni (Queen Atletica), alongside Simon Ladurner of the Raiffeisen Central Bank and Christoph Widmann of Texmarket.
“This event proved that by working together, we can create something truly valuable for our athletes and our community,” said Christoph Widmann, CEO of Texmarket.
The next stop of the Texmarket Trophy will be the Queenatletica Arco Games 5.0 on June 28th in Arco (TN). Expectations are high following the success in Bolzano, and the stage is set for another spectacular day of athletics.
Texmarket is proud to support this initiative, helping to bring visibility, structure, and opportunity to the athletic movement in Trentino-Alto Adige and beyond.
